Install Casper for Chrome

Chrome Web Store

After the Casper listing is published, install Casper Auto Answer from the Chrome Web Store to receive Chrome-managed automatic updates. Sign in with the same Casper account as the Mac app.

Manual development installation

The app also opened the included ChromeCompanion folder in Finder for development testing.

  1. In Chrome, enter chrome://extensions in the address bar.
  2. Turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the ChromeCompanion folder the app revealed.
  3. Open Casper Auto Answer from Chrome’s extensions menu. Sign in with the same Casper email and password used in the Mac app. No pairing code is needed.
  4. In the Mac app, press Sign in to ChatGPT and complete sign-in directly on ChatGPT’s website. The sign-in window closes automatically when the account is confirmed, and answering stays hidden. Guest answering is disabled. Casper remembers the ChatGPT session on this Mac across relaunches. ChatGPT can still require sign-in again when its session expires. Signing out of Casper clears the saved website session.
  5. Keep Casper open. Open a Google Form, click the companion, then Solve & fill. Review the answers; Next and Submit stay manual.

Chrome requires you to approve installation. Loading the included folder manually does not download Web Store updates. The store installation is separate. Existing users: reload the extension on Chrome’s Extensions page after installing the new app, or load the new folder above.

Your Casper password is used only to authenticate with the configured license server over HTTPS, through the local Mac app. It is not saved by the extension or sent to ChatGPT. Form questions go to ChatGPT; account credentials do not.
